Meet the Founder
Welcome to The Communication Bridge! My name is Erica Landry and I'm an ASHA certified and MA licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) who's been practicing since 2009. I am a Massachusetts native, a wife, a mama to human and cat kids and a lover of art, live music and travel.
Over the course of my career, I have been most passionate about the functional and pragmatic language components of the field. While social interactions are seemingly straightforward, there are so many nuanced and subtle complexities to use and interpret in each interaction that have a direct and profound impact on our connections with each other.
I spent over a decade working in public schools helping neurodiverse students navigate these subtle complexities of the social world. One of the most vital components to their success was making time to collaborate with their village, their families and team of teachers, about their unique profile and how they could thrive outside the therapy room with our support. When we were afforded time to connect behind the scenes, students were able to soar in the inclusion setting, as whole class lessons brought common language and a chance to practice empathy for all of the classroom community, and caregivers had practical strategies to use at home. This enabled students to feel supported by their village and empowered them to take more social risks.
This is where the idea for The Communication Bridge began to form. I am grateful to have the opportunity to devote my practice to being part of your village and helping those who are working extraordinarily hard to navigate the complexities of the social world. By taking the time to learn how to meet people with love and support where they're at, we bridge the gap, so that all individuals, and their communities, have a chance to make meaningful connections and truly thrive.
